Advice before choosing
I have worked in marine electronics since 2000, with most of the major brands on the market over those years. That experience helps me advise you before you choose: which equipment you need, what is worth keeping and which combination makes sense for your boat. The work can begin with a conversation about the brand and overall approach, before we define the purchase and installation.
Thinking from the helm
I put myself in the position of the person using the installation: the captain, skipper or owner. I want to understand how you navigate, which information you need within reach and what you find comfortable or awkward about your current helm. This guides the layout, visibility and operation of displays, instruments and controls. The electronics should help you in everyday use, and that practical use shapes my proposal.
Brands I know and recommend
Raymarine, Furuno and Simrad are the brands I am most comfortable working with and tend to recommend. Experience with other brands also helps me assess mixed installations and their integration options. The choice depends on your needs, your existing equipment and how you want to use the complete system. I check compatibility and the information each system can share before defining the solution.
From a new device to a complete refit
I can help with adding or replacing a single device, a retrofit, a refit or a complete navigation electronics renewal. I assess the existing installation and plan equipment selection, supply, installation, configuration and integration as a whole. To get started, tell me how you use your boat and what you would like to improve; photographs of the helm and the models already installed will help us develop the proposal.
